*सांस्कृतिक कार्य मंत्री ॲड आशिष शेलार यांची विनंती मान्य*

महाराष्ट्रातील पारंपारिक वस्त्र व जी सुदंर विणकामाचा एक अविष्कार आहे तसेच ज्याला सांडयांची महाराणी म्हणून ओळखले जाते ,अशी महाराष्ट्राची पैठणी आता लंडनच्या व्हिक्टोरिया अल्बर्ट संग्रहालयामध्ये प्रदर्शित होणार आहे. सांस्कृतिक कार्य मंत्री ॲड आशिष शेलार यांनी केलेली विनंती संग्रहालयाने मान्य केली आहे.
शूर मराठा सरदार रघुजीराजे भोसले यांची ऐतिसाहिक तलवार ताब्यात घेण्यासाठी राज्याचे सांस्कृती कार्य मंत्री ॲड आशिष शेलार हे सध्या लंडन दौऱ्यावर आहेत आज त्यांनी लंडनच्या प्राचीन व्हिक्टोरिया अल्बर्ट संग्रहालयाला भेट दिली यावेळी संग्रहालयाचे संचालक मिस्टर हंट आणि त्यांचे संरक्षक (कन्झर्वेटर) यांच्यासोबत झालेल्या बैठकीत काही महत्त्वाच्या चर्चा झाल्या व त्यातून सकारात्मक निर्णय झाले.
ॲड आशिष शेलार यांनी सांगितले की, “आपल्या छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांच्या शौर्याचं प्रतीक असलेली वाघनखं आपल्याला जरूर तीन वर्षासाठी लोन वर मिळालेली आहेत. पण ती परत करावी लागतील अशा पद्धतीच्या गोष्टी यापुढे होता कामा नयेत म्हणून अशा ज्या काही महत्त्वाच्या गोष्टी विक्टोरिया अल्बर्ट म्युझियममध्ये आहेत, त्या यापुढे जास्त काळासाठी लोनवर मिळण्याबाबत सकारात्मक चर्चा आम्हा दोघांमध्ये झाली.
मुंबईत बीकेसी येथे महाराष्ट्र सरकार जे राज्य संग्रहालय उभारणार आहे त्यासाठी सल्लागार तज्ञ म्हणून व्हिक्टोरिया अल्बर्ट म्युझियम आपल्याला सहकार्य करेल. या सहकार्याचा करार व्हावा या दृष्टीने सांस्कृतिक विभाग काम करीत आहे.
व्हिक्टोरिया अल्बर्ट संग्रहालयामध्ये आपली महाराष्ट्रातील पैठणी ही प्रदर्शित केली जावी ही मागणी आम्ही केली ती त्यांनी मान्य केली आणि या पुढच्या काळामध्ये आपल्या पैठणी सोबतच हातमागावरची वस्त्रांचे प्रदर्शनही या संग्रहालयामध्ये होईल या दृष्टीने सकरात्मक बोलणी झाली.” असे ॲड शेलार यंनी सांगितले.
*Maharashtra’s iconic ‘Paithani’ saree to grace the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum*
*Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar’s initiative receives go-ahead*
Maharashtra’s ‘Paithani’, a traditional textile and a stunning example of the state’s intricate weaving art, often referred to as the ‘Queen of Sarees’, will soon be displayed at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. The museum has accepted the proposal put forth by Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs Minister, Adv. Ashish Shelar.
Currently on a visit to London to acquire the historic sword of the brave Maratha chieftain Raghuji Raje Bhosale, Adv. Shelar visited the historic Victoria and Albert Museum today. During his meeting with the museum’s director, Mr. Hunt, and the conservator, several important discussions took place, resulting in positive outcomes.
Adv. Shelar stated, “We had received Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s iconic ‘Wagh Nakh’ (tiger claws) on a three-year loan. However, they will eventually have to be returned. Such situations should not arise in the future. Therefore, we discussed, on a positive note, the possibility of obtaining other important artefacts from the Victoria and Albert Museum on a longer-term loan.”
The Victoria and Albert Museum will also extend its cooperation as a consulting expert for the state museum that the Maharashtra government is setting up at BKC in Mumbai. The cultural department is working towards signing a formal agreement in this regard.
“We also proposed that Maharashtra’s ‘Paithani’ be displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum. They have agreed to this request, and discussions were also held to ensure that, in the future, along with the Paithani, exhibitions of handloom textiles from our state will also be showcased at the museum,” Adv. Shelar added.
